THE WOMEN OF MANY FIRST

History makers influence more than their own lives; retired US Army Claudette Williams exemplifies this.

Claudette Williams is a leader both at heart and in action, recognized for her presence wherever lives can be changed and young minds can be inspired. Drawing upon her experience as a Sergeant Major in the United States Army, as well as her roles in the private and government sectors, Claudette brings a wealth of knowledge to every endeavor. Her leadership journey has served as a platform to encourage every generation. She believes that everyone has a role in shaping the world, regardless of age or stage in life.

With 30 years of military service, Claudette achieved the rank held by the highest enlisted members of the U.S. Army a distinction earned by less than 1% of service members demonstrating exceptional dedication and leadership. Her service includes deployments in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation New Dawn, where she led by example and inspired those under her command.

Claudette Williams has continued her legacy of breaking barriers through dedicated public service in Mt Pocono Borough. As a councilwoman, she has taken an active role in shaping the community’s history about women service.

Her pioneering spirit extends beyond government; Williams also founded the first Women Veterans Museum in the State of Pennsylvania. This museum stands as a testament to the contributions of women in the military, telling their stories and sharing their experiences from the unique perspective of those who have served and continue to serve.

Advocacy for Women and Commitment to Service

Williams is a firm believer in the importance of recognizing and sharing the accomplishments of women throughout history. She emphasizes the significance of being prepared for the responsibilities that come with serving others

Personal Life and Inspiration

While Williams is proud of her professional and community achievements, she considers her role as a mother to three children to be her greatest accomplishment. Her passion and drive are fueled by the words of a songwriter, “He raised me, so I can stand on mountain,” and by the biblical principle, “To whom much is given, much is required.” These guiding beliefs continue to inspire her dedication to service and leadership.
